Why Do We Hate Spiders?

We all hate violence and guns and war
And when there’s rain we never ask for more
We hate working hard but we hate being poor
But why do we hate spiders?
We don’t like wasps or bugs that sting
We don’t like the weeds that cover everything
I understand why we hate all those things
But why do we hate spiders?
Arachnids are a friendly bunch
But from your point of view
I bet you wouldn’t like to hear the crunch
If someone stepped on you
Unlike cats and dogs that came and went
The spiders don’t leave you with a nasty scent
And catching all the flies is their way of paying rent
So why do we hate spiders?
They stay in the corner and they don’t eat your food
They don’t cost you money and they never can be rude
I’ve never seen a spider that was in a bad mood
So why do we hate spiders?
Arachnids are a friendly bunch
But from your point of view
I bet you wouldn’t like to hear the crunch
If someone stepped on you
You got to give respect to the eight-legged race
Thy build their little homes with beauty and grace
And when you sleep at night they run across your face...
Oh yeah...

For all the things that people have done wrong

Shining down upon our stormy seas
I wish for silver moonlight but city lights are blinding
The neon signs and smokey chimney haze
The birds have all stopped singing, they’re drowned in noisy engines
